My client, a leading provider of food and hospitality services, is currently seeking a Kitchen Porter to support a busy catering operation in Galway on a temporary basis.

Position Overview:

As Kitchen Porter, you will support the kitchen team by maintaining clean, organised kitchen and wash-up areas, ensuring equipment is ready for use and assisting with daily operational duties. This is a hands-on role involving dishwashing, cleaning, waste disposal and supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods.

This is a temporary position based in Galway, working Monday to Friday, with shifts of 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, offering competitive hourly rate of €14.15 ph

Requirements:

• Previous Kitchen Porter experience within a busy kitchen or catering environment
• Valid Manual Handling and HACCP certificates
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and safe working practices
• Ability to carry out physical duties, including lifting and moving supplies safely
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
• Reliable, punctual and comfortable following instructions
• Availability for the stated Monday-to-Friday shifts
• Full right to work in Ireland

Responsibilities:

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment
• Operate the dishwasher and maintain a clean, organised wash-up area
• Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, equipment and storage areas
• Ensure clean utensils and equipment are available to the kitchen team
• Empty bins and dispose of waste according to site procedures
• Assist with receiving deliveries and storing supplies correctly
• Support basic food preparation as instructed
• Keep walkways and work areas clear and safe
• Assist the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Follow HACCP, food hygiene, health and safety and site procedures
