My client, a well-established provider of high-quality catering and support services, is seeking an experienced Relief Healthcare Chef to support their team in a nursing home setting based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo

Position Overview:

As the Healthcare Chef, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs within a nursing home environment. You will be responsible for maintaining exceptional food standards while ensuring full compliance with all healthcare and food safety regulations.

This is a relief position requiring flexibility,, core working days Monday to Friday and offers a competitive hourly rate of up to €22 per hour

Requirements:

• Min 2+ years’ experience as a Chef, within a healthcare or nursing home setting
• Experience catering for special dietary requirements (e.g. modified diets, allergens, texture-modified meals)
• Valid Garda Vetting (essential)
• Up-to-date Manual Handling Certificate
• HACCP Level 2 (minimum)
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and healthcare compliance (required)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals in line with residents’ dietary needs
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standard
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures
• Manage kitchen cleanliness and organisation at all times
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering where required
• Work closely with care staff to ensure all dietary requirements are met
• Ensure full compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
