We are currently seeking a Payroll & Accounting Technician for our client, a thriving accountancy practice in the Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional to join a busy and growing firm, managing a diverse client base in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Position Overview:

As a Payroll & Accounting Technician, you will manage end-to-end payroll for a range of clients, process pensions, PAYE, and statutory payments, and support bookkeeping tasks, including VAT returns and reconciliations. You will play a key role in ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements:

• Hands-on payroll processing experience within an accountancy practice.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Familiarity with payroll software (Sage, Xero, BrightPay, etc.).
• Client-focused with excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly, fortnightly, and monthly runs.
• Process pensions, PAYE, and statutory payments with precision.
• Handle payroll queries efficiently, ensuring client satisfaction.
• Support bookkeeping tasks, including VAT returns and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth operations.
