My client, a well-established provider of catering and facilities services, is currently looking for an experienced Catering Assistant (Ongoing Relief) to join their team based in Co. Wexford.

Position Overview:

As the Catering Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operation of a busy catering service by assisting with food preparation, front-of-house and back-of-house duties, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and customer service. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, reliability, and the ability to confidently step in to support service as required, including till operation and customer-facing duties.

This role offers a rate of €14.15 per hour, with a core working schedule of Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, providing ongoing relief work within a professional and well-structured catering environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1+ year of Irish catering or food service experience (essential)
• Experience in both FOH and BOH catering environments
• Comfortable with till operation and customer-facing duties
• Strong understanding of hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible to provide relief cover
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong English – written and verbal
• Full right to work in Ireland

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with food preparation and basic kitchen duties (BOH)
• Supporting front-of-house service, including serving customers and operating the till
• Providing friendly, professional customer service during service periods
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen, service, and dining areas
• Washing dishes and sanitising equipment and workstations
• Supporting the catering team during busy periods and staff cover
• Adhering strictly to food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and HACCP procedures
