JOB DESCRIPTION

On behalf of our client, a leading Civil Engineering & Groundworks company based in Waterford, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager to oversee and manage a variety of groundworks and civil engineering projects. This is a pivotal role requiring strong leadership, organizational skills, and technical expertise to ensure successful project delivery.

Please note: A full, clean Irish Driving License is required for this position. Applicants must already have the right to work in Ireland, as the client is not in a position to offer Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities:


• Plan, execute, and deliver multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring all objectives are met on time and within scope.
• Lead, motivate, and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals.
• Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and mitigating risks as needed.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all sites.
• Review project designs, drawings, and specifications, and provide technical guidance where required.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across all project activities.

Requirements:


• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not essential with significant experience).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within the groundworks or civil engineering sector.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• A full, clean Irish Driving License is mandatory.
• Applicants must already be permitted to work in Ireland, as Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• A thorough understanding of health and safety standards and construction regulations in Ireland.
