JOB DESCRIPTION

My client, a leading Civils contractor with a strong foothold in the industry, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their team in Newbridge, Co. Kildare on a large scale build for one of their prestigious clients which is set to last for the next year and a half minimum

This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, offering a competitive salary range of €40,000 to €65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Position Overview:
As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment on our project. Qualified candidates of all levels will be considered on this role as their are multiple openings, which is reflected in the salary range, which has been set at between €40,000-€65,000 per year which will fully depend on level of experience and suitability for the role.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures to comply with legal standards and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Deliver health and safety training sessions to employees at all levels to promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure all health and safety requirements are met and maintained.
- Coordinate emergency response planning and conduct regular emergency drills.
- Monitor and analyze health and safety performance metrics, proposing and implementing improvements where necessary.
- Keep abreast of current health and safety legislation, guidelines, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

Requirements:

- Health and Safety qualification.
- Minimum of 1 year post graduation of experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction / Civils or pharma industries in Ireland.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential hazards.

Hours:
