JOB DESCRIPTION

On behalf of our client, a well-established Civil Engineering & Groundworks company based in Waterford, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Groundworks Foreman/Woman to lead and manage on-site operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in groundworks and site supervision.

Please note: A full, clean Irish Driving License is required for this position. Applicants must already have the right to work in Ireland, as the client is not in a position to offer Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities:


• Oversee and manage all groundworks activities on-site, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
• Supervise and coordinate site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient work practices.
• Monitor and enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ensure the quality of work meets project specifications and client expectations.
• Conduct regular site meetings to review progress, address challenges, and provide clear instructions to the team.
• Liaise with the project manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Identify and resolve on-site issues promptly, minimizing delays or disruptions.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, site progress, and resources used.

Requirements:


• Proven track record as a Groundworks Foreman or similar role, with significant hands-on experience in groundworks, site preparation, drainage, and related activities.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, tools, and materials.
• Driving License
• Applicants must already be permitted to work in Ireland, as Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions under pressure.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans and technical drawings.
