My client, a leading organisation in the renewable energy and insulation sector, is currently seeking an Architectural Technician to join their growing team based in Dublin.

Position Overview:

As a Architectural Technician, you will play a vital role in the design, coordination, and delivery of high-quality residential retrofit projects across Ireland. Working in line with SEAI guidelines and current building regulations, you will be responsible for producing precise technical drawings, conducting detailed site surveys, and ensuring all retrofit measures are both practical and fully compliant.

This is a full-time, site-based role operating Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with regular nationwide travel required. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to deliver energy-efficient solutions such as insulation upgrades, ventilation improvements, heating system replacements, and airtightness measures.

With a competitive salary of €50,000 to €60,000 per year, this is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technologist with a passion for sustainability and residential design to grow within a progressive, mission-driven team committed to improving energy performance in homes across Ireland.

This is a permanent role, which will involve working for my client directly on a permanent basis, this is not an agency or short term role. I am assisting my client in finding suitable candidates to work for them directly.

Requirements:

• Recognised qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential construction or retrofit projects
• Strong knowledge of Part L and current Irish building regulations
• Understanding of retrofit works: insulation, ventilation, heating systems, airtightness
• Excellent technical drawing and specification writing skills
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Able to work independently and travel nationwide as needed
• BER Assessor qualification or DEAP experience
• Experience with SEAI schemes (Warmer Homes, LA-funded programs)
• Familiarity with SEAI documentation and grant application processes

Responsibilities:

• Prepare technical drawings/specifications in line with SEAI, building regs, and local authority requirements
• Conduct site surveys and assess suitability of retrofit measures (insulation, heating, ventilation, etc.)
• Carry out regular on-site quality checks and ensure compliance with project standards
• Liaise with project engineers, surveyors, and site teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility
• Support project delivery by resolving technical issues and providing on-site guidance
• Maintain clear documentation and revision records in line with QA procedures
• Familiarity with SR54 Code of Practice is desirable (training provided)
